DUI Crackdown. Plainsboro Police will be cracking down on drunken drivers as part of the summer “Over the Limit, Under Arrest” campaign, which runs through Monday, September 6.

During the campaign police will be conducting sobriety checkpoints and looking for motorists who may be driving while intoxicated. The campaign is part of a concentrated national effort aimed at raising awareness through high-visibility enforcement and public education.

Credit Card Fraud. A resident of Drayton Lane was the victim of credit card fraud on August 21. Officer Jason A. Mandato said that between May 10 and July 29, someone made $5,147.74 in fraudulent charges using the victim’s credit card.

Criminal Mischief. A resident of Tamarron Drive was the victim of criminal mischief. Sergeant John Bresnen said someone keyed her car between noon and 2:45 p.m. on August 11. The cost of the repairs is estimated to be $250.

Burglary/Theft. Two Madison Drive residents were the victims of burglary and theft between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on August 18. Police said someone broke into the two homes through unlocked doors while the homeowners were not home and stole a laptop and jewelry, worth a total $1,500, from the first, and two laptops and jewelry, worth a total $2,500 from the second.

A resident of Tennyson Drive was the victim of theft between 8 p.m. on August 18 and 10 a.m. on August 19. Officer Joseph Bolognese said someone stole a yellow and black Schwinn bicycle that was left unlocked out on the front lawn. The approximate value of the bike is $200.

Isabella Koseorek, 41, of Trenton, was charged August 12 with theft. Officer Richard Wolak said he was called to a residence on Kinglet Drive South on a report of a theft. He said he found that Koseorek, the maid for the family, had stolen over $500 worth of change from within the house over a three-month period spanning from May 1 through August 12. She was sent to the Middlesex County jail in default of $15,000 bail.

A resident of Quail Ridge Drive was the victim of theft between May 1 and May 31, the victim reported to police on August 13. Officer Richard Wolak said someone stole an iPod Nano, worth $150, and $120 of cash from his residence.

The Crown of India restaurant was the victim of theft between August 10 and 13. Officer Joseph Bolognese said someone stole the license plates from a parked work van owned by the restaurant and parked behind it.

A resident of Bradford Lane was the victim of theft and burglary between August 5 and 10. Officer Martin McMahon said someone stole two GPS units, a blue tooth headset, and a Blackberry phone charger from the victim’s car. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be $390.

A resident of Franklin Drive was the victim of burglary and theft between August 9 and 10. Officer Martin McElrath said someone stole an iPod and iPod case from the victim’s car, which was left unlocked overnight. The iPod was estimated to cost $250, and the case was estimated to cost $25.

Drug Arrests. Eric Schulz, 24, of Fox Run Drive, was charged August 20 with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officer Thomas Larity said he stopped him on Wyndhurst Drive for having an inoperable brake light and an expired registration and found he was in possession of marijuana. He was also charged with maintenance of lamps, having an uninsured motor vehicle, having an unregistered vehicle, failure to notify change of address, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

DWI Arrests. Daniel E. Pizzi, 28, of Deer Creek Drive, was charged August 21 with driving while intoxicated. Officer Martin McElrath said he stopped him on Deer Creek Drive for speeding, failing to maintain a lane, and having unclear license plates and found him to be intoxicated. He was also charged with reckless driving, speeding, unclear plates, and failing to maintain a lane.

James Johnson, 38, of New York, NY, was charged August 20 with driving while intoxicated. Officer Kevin Lowery said he stopped him on Tamarron Drive after noticing he was driving with two flat passenger side tires and no headlights on Plainsboro Road. He said he stopped him and found he was intoxicated. He was also charged with reckless driving, unsafe vehicle, not using headlights, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Umar K. Cheema, 19, of Quail Ridge Drive, was charged August 21 with driving while intoxicated. Officer Joseph Dell Beni said he stopped Cheema on Dey Road for speeding and found he was intoxicated. He was also charged with underage driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, speeding, and violating the probationary driver’s license.

Kyle P. Grant, 27, of Ravens Crest Drive, was charged August 22 with driving while intoxicated. Corporal Robert Fleming said he saw him cross over the double yellow line on Plainsboro Road, prior to turning onto Scotts Corner Road. He said he stopped him on Scotts Corner Road at Ravens Crest Drive and found him to be intoxicated. He was also charged with reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane, and making an unsafe lane change.

James S. Torky, 21, of Parlin, was charged August 14 with driving while intoxicated. Officer Timothy McMahon said he was headed to Hunters Glen Drive on the report of a car playing loud music and found him trying to leave the area at a high speed. He said he stopped him on Tamarron Drive and found he was intoxicated. He said he also found him to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, careless driving, and having unclear license plates. He was sent to the Middlesex County jail in default of bail.

Carl Huttenberger, 44, of Jamesburg was charged August 12 with driving while intoxicated. Officer Joseph DiGeronimo said he stopped him on Scudders Mill Road for making an improper turn and having an inoperable head lamp and found he was intoxicated. He was also charged with driving while intoxicated in a school zone, reckless driving, improper turning, and maintenance of lamps.
