Burglary. A resident of Cypress Court was the victim of a burglary between November 1 and January 7. Officer Richard S. Wolak said someone entered the victim’s residence and took several pieces of electronic equipment valued at $5, 340.
Criminal Mischief. Someone spray-painted graffiti on the glass panels of a New Jersey Transit bus stop shelter on Scotts Corner Road between January 8 and 9, said Sergeant John Bresnen. The estimated cost of repair is $1,500.
Identity Theft. A resident of Parker Road South was the victim of identity theft between November 1 and 30. Officer Richard Wolak said someone used two of his credit cards to make several fraudulent purchases totaling $1,883.
A resident of Jersey City was the victim of identity theft between December 24 and 28. Officer Martin McElrath said someone obtained two credit cards in the victim’s name and used them to make purchases totaling $5,500.
DWI Arrests. Angel J. Torres, 25, of New Brunswick, was charged January 19 with driving while intoxicated. Officer Mathieu Baumann said he stopped Torres on Route 1 South for failing to maintain a lane and found him to be intoxicated. He was also charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain a lane.
